Joining forces for business software in Switzerland: terna AG and Opus Solution AG merge to form terna Switzerland AG

03/03/2014

Root/Hünenberg, Switzerland, 03 March 2014 – The merger allows terna, a business software specialist, to strengthen its market position in Switzerland. In addition, terna is set to enter the CRM market. In doing so, terna is taking the next logical step toward becoming a one-stop business software provider.

Software provider terna, based in Innsbruck, Austria, acquired OPUS Solution AG in Switzerland at the beginning of 2013. After integrating OPUS Solution AG into the terna Group, the two Swiss companies merged. In the future, terna AG and OPUS Solution AG will operate on the Swiss market as terna Switzerland AG. Isabelle Geissmann, current Head of Marketing and Sales at OPUS Solution AG, and Marcel Peter, Managing Director at terna AG, are teaming up as a management duo and taking over management of the new company.

“Consolidation is another important step toward the consistent expansion of our market position in Switzerland. Our customers benefit from our pooled expertise and a comprehensive range of products offering business software solutions from a single source,” says Isabelle Geissmann, explaining the motivation behind the move.

To date, the terna Group has focused its activities on software solutions and services associated with enterprise resource planning (ERP) and business intelligence (BI). In doing so, terna mainly specialised in the implementation, maintenance and support of Microsoft Dynamics AX and Infor M3, the world’s leading ERP solutions, and also offered a broad range of BI solutions. Payroll Swiss, a certified Swiss solution for wage and salary accounting developed by OPUS based on Dynamics AX, complements the range of products.

terna plans to further extend its product range with the company-wide launch of a business line for CRM (Customer Relationship Management) based on Microsoft in April 2014. “We have precisely analysed our potential and are convinced we can quickly implement our go-to-market strategy and soon play a prominent role on the CRM market,” says a confident Christian Kranebitter, CEO of terna. “We have already been able to gain many experienced CRM experts and we plan to gradually expand the CRM team,” says Kranebitter.

The extension to the product strategy and the significant increase in staff are part of terna’s plan to become the leading Dynamics partner in the German-speaking world in the medium term.
