Innsbruck, October 08, 2012 – By implementing Infor M3, HERMES hopes to
standardise and modernise its IT infrastructure, which is currently composed of heterogeneous software installations. HERMES has commissioned software company terna with the implementation of Infor M3.
After an extensive ERP selection process, the HERMES Group decided to implement the ERP solution Infor M3 throughout the company. The software upgrade affects the company’s headquarters in Grosshesselohe (near Munich), both of its production facilities in Wofratshausen and Wolfsberg, and its location in Vienna. In addition to Infor M3’s comprehensive functions, HERMES was particularly impressed by M3 Smart Office’s highly ergonomic user interface.
“By investing in a new ERP system, we wanted to make our business processes more transparent and standardise them across all of our locations. We hope it will optimise our reaction times and efficiency, which are major factors in the success of the Hermes Group, and also help us meet the needs of our increasingly international customers,” says Holger Dietel, CEO of HERMES, explaining his expectations of the company’s new ERP system.
Currently, HERMES manufactures a wide range of different pharmaceutical products – including contract manufacturing orders – in various dosages. In the context of the ERP project, HERMES hopes to harmonise processes between both of its production facilities.
In addition to the standard Infor M3 modules for the areas of financial management, production, product data management, logistics, planning, procurement, and sales, the company plans to implement further Infor M3 modules, such as the ones for document archiving and process automation.
HERMES considers the ERP project – named ‘NESY’ (‘New ERP System’) – to be of central importance. During the implementation process, project managers will be released from up to 80 percent of their daily duties. The HERMES-terna project team, relieved of everyday tasks, will come together in the company’s ‘NESY-CITY’ project building and work together in ideal conditions to advance the ERP project. In this way, the pharmaceutical company hopes to have the ERP system up and running ‘with no side effects’ by Q2 2014. Following the upgrade, HERMES plans to implement Infor M3 at Bad Heilbrunner Naturheilmittel GmbH & Co. KG, which is also part of the HERMES Group.
