Combined with Allgeier subsidiary Gemed, Allgeier Medical IT is established
Munich, June 11, 2014 – Allgeier SE (ISIN DE0005086300, WKN 508630) is continuing to expand its healthcare area by augmenting its portfolio of specialised sector software and consulting for hospitals and medical areas – with eHealthOpen Ltd. having joined the Group since the end of May. As part of this move, Allgeier will in future bundle its healthcare business within its Gemed subsidiary. This entity is being renamed, and will be continued as Allgeier Medical IT GmbH.
eHealthOpen was founded in 2006, and focuses on advising companies and hospitals, supporting them in the planning of special solutions in medicine and care, medical technology, medical IT, biometrics, as well as archiving concepts and signature processes in the patient information area. In addition, eHealthOpen is the host and organiser of the Schliersee Conference, which is regarded as a forward-looking event within the healthcare IT sector. The managing director of eHealthOpen, Heino Kuhlemann, will be active as the new managing director of Allgeier Medical IT together with Wolfgang Schmezer. Heino Kuhlemann draws on extensive experience and a strong, high level network as a result of having held managing director positions within the e-health environment.
Allgeier Medical IT specialises in modern IT solutions for clinics, hospitals and other healthcare market participants in Europe. Allgeier Medical IT solutions can be connected flexibly to different primary and sub-systems, thereby enabling long-term planning and cost security. Allgeier Medical IT combines and orchestrates various solutions with its own components, as well as the comprehensive product range of the Allgeier Group, advising hospitals on their overall strategy. Together with the additional consulting and software expertise offered by eHealthOpen, this creates a new independent IT services-provider in the future healthcare market, providing clinics and hospitals with a broad-based and diversified portfolio of solutions and advice. With the addition of eHealthOpen, the new Allgeier Medical IT has a customer base of over 800 clients within the region of Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and an additional 200 customers in the Netherlands.
